"Coda" is a hauntingly beautiful short animated film that follows one lost soul’s
drunken stumble home from a nightclub in the early hours of the morning.
What starts as a warm story about a fool's drunk antics quickly
transforms into a quiet reflection on life and mortality that will stick
with you all day. At the risk of ruining the twist, I’ll stop there,
but I think it's fair to say that anytime an animation manages to earn over twenty international film
awards, including Best Animated Short Film at the prestigious SXSW Film Festival in Austin, and an Oscar shortlist nomination, you can be fairly certain that it warrants a few minutes minutes of your time.
hand-drawn production has a bleak look full of vivid color contrasts that recalls paintings such as the famous "Nighthawks" by Edward Hopper.
