Lego Creations: BattleStar Galactica

"BattleStar Galactica" by Netherlands-based Ruud Hoogmoed

This impressive project is an on-going attempt to recreate the BattleStar Galactica in Lego form.  It's not finished by it's already a sight to behold.  I'm bookmarking the page to check back on its progress.

Lego Creation: Colonial Viper

Seeing as how BattleStar Galactica is one of the few popular fandoms not currently licensed by Lego, I'm always on the lookout for clever fan builds.  Razzy has several very well designed builds, including both the Mark 2 and Mark 7.

Someone needs to nominated this for an official build!

Lego Creation: Cylon Baseship

Garry King

Garry King created this model of the somewhat obscure space station, which was only briefly referenced in the classic series. It is composed of 16,387 bricks weighing a grand total of thirty-six pounds.
"I like this build because it is unusual in design and concept. There is very little reference material available for this ship just the basic shape. The detail is applied for a dramatic effect. If you have a look at the original 1978 Battlestar Galactica series. The first movie Saga of star worlds when Apollo and Zac go on patrol and see a Cylon tanker the scan through their onboard war book display and this beauty is unveiled for the first time.

Sadly it never got developed as a model until now. Wait before I say that I should say I have not found any physical models on the internet."

Quick Pic: Cylon Engagement Ring

Cylon Engagement Ring

Cylon Engagement Ring by Michael Moragne

This guy designed a custom engagement ring for his girlfriend in Photoshop. He then had it modeled, prototyped, and cast in real life from the gold of his grandmother's wedding ring. There's an actual ruby in each of the Cylons' eyes. You need to see this ring from every angle to fully appreciate just how amazing it's design is. I just hope that BattleStar Galactica is her fandom and not his.

Lego Creations: BattleStar Galactica

This sweet frakkin display was fielded by ChiefLUG at BrickCon 2008. Highlights of the display include a thirteen foot hangar, a 45-inch long mosaic of Galactica, and thirty-five ships, including Vipers, Raptors, and Raiders. It was built by Ryan Wood, Mark Sandlin, and Andrew Lee. Check out the full gallery at ChiefLUG's Flickr Photostream. See how the set was built at this second photostream.
