Legend of Zelda Nesting Dolls
Acrylic on Wooden Nesting Dolls - max height 5.25” min height 0.825”
"I spent a couple of days painting some nesting dolls with characters from two of my favourite Studio Ghibli films - No-Face from "Spirited Away" and Totoro from "My Neighbour Totoro".
The large Totoro and the No-Faces are individual Russian dolls that open up to reveal a surprise inside - GOLD!! (Or, golden wrapped sweeties...) I wanted to put acorns inside Totoro but couldn't find any so sweeties will have to suffice. The No-Face dolls have his white mask on one side, and then when you turn him around you see his big true mouth. I used golden sweeties to mimic the gold that No-Face hands people in the film."
"Sometimes you just gotta paint your monster themed nesting dolls in Basil Gogos' style, know what I mean? These were fun to do, and might be the only set I paint this way. Frankenstein's Monster ended up looking more Strange than Karloff but that's okay."
"This is my design
I’ve been wanting to do Hannibal nesting dolls for ages and I finally got the motivation to do it! THIS SHOW. Ravenstag is about 8” high. Biggest to smallest - Ravenstag > Hannibal Lecter > Will Graham > Alana Bloom > Jack Crawford > Abigail Hobbs > the Littlest Winston"

"My new matryoshka doll is a mixture between the original Addams Family show and the 90's movies that I've loved for many, many years. The collection still lacks Lurch, Grandmama and Uncle Fester (and Thing, that would be quite a challenge!), but I might paint them later. I hope you like it! And oh, Morticia & Gomez are same sized because I didn't want to ruin their equality. ;)"
"I’ve been painting Whoniverse nesting dolls since 2009, and this particular one is my third and latest set of the Ten Doctors. They were painted last October for A Certain Someone’s birthday. Won’t say who, but you’d certainly recognize the name. I’m bummed that I couldn’t include Matt Smith in this set since I only had ten dolls, but the next one will definitely have him in it."
"What can I say, I'm a sucker for Lovecraft.
These little beauties are my submission to next month's "Doll Haus" nesting dolls group show at Rothick Art Haus. From largest to smallest we've got an Idol to the dread Cthulhu himself, a Shogoth, and a cultist (still clutching his Necronomicon)."
"Star Wars Return of the Jedi Nesting dolls are here! It's the Jabba the Hutt Palace scene. It's two sets of 7 pieces, one is the good guys and one is the bad guys. In the bad guys set (left), from biggest to smallest you have Jabba the Hutt, Boba Fett, Gamorrean Guard, Bib Fortuna, Max Rebo, EV-9D9, and Salacious B. Crumb. In the good guys set (right), from biggest to smallest you have Han Solo (frozen in carbonite), Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker, Lando Calrissian, Princess Leia, C-3PO and R2-D2.
All are hand painted with Acrylic. The largest doll measures in at 8" tall, and the smallest doll is 0.75". "
"Star Wars nesting dolls are here! Each set has 7 pieces. The largest doll is 8" tall and the smallest is 0.75" tall. I stuck with doing just Episode IV A New Hope (the first movie from the 70's). The dolls are wood and painted with acrylic. May the force be with you..."
