Video: Skyrim Honest Trailer

Smosh Games and Screen Junkies teamed up to create another Honest Trailer about a video game instead of a movie or TV show. As with their honest trailers for Mario Kart and Grand Theft Auto V, they’ve picked another awesome game to joke about: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.  Most of the Honest Trailers make me wonder why I liked the movie in question, but this trailer just made Skyrim seem even more awesome!

Sweets: Skyrim Book Cake

Skyrim Book Cake by the wife of Reddit user Bacongrease00

A book is the perfect theme for any cake, since cakes are basically book-shaped to begin with, but re-creating The Book of the Dragonborn would be the perfect centerpiece for a geek party.  Sadly for for Bacongrease00, he won’t get a crumb of the vanilla cake and cannoli cream filling
, because his wife made it for someone else.  At least he got some karma out of it.

Banksy Takes the Art World’s Money, But He Won’t Buy Its Line: What happens when Banksy subverts the very brand he's become? Molly Crabapple argues that the British street artist is a godsend to people who "love art but to whom the art world sounds like it's babbling in an invented language."

Short Film: Skyrim: Into the Void

Read an interview with one of the short film's creators, Landon Sperry.

This astonishingly well-made fan film for Skyrim could very well be a trailer for an HBO adaptation of the game.
"Dovahkiin, the noble dragonborn hero, is cursed in a fight with a vampire. He spends a considerable time wandering the realm before being captured by the Dark Brotherhood, who offer him a deal. Dovahkiin agrees to help the Brotherhood save a captured member from the Necromancers, in exchange for a cure to his vampirism."

Doctor Who fan-mania: Why I had to build my own Tardis

The Doom that Came to Atlantic City was billed as something of a Monopoly meets Cthulhu. It was a Kickstarter that got great reviews and raised over $120K. Then, suddenly, it was over. The cancellation of the project came as an unpleasant surprise to the game's creators, and the company that was supposed to produce it is basically forced to ask "please don't sue us." The announcement is not going over well. Other troubled Kickstarters.
