"Mirus Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Les Cages: A Fractured Gaze, an exhibition of new works on paper and canvas by Sandra Chevrier on view April 5th through May 10th. This is the artist’s first solo exhibition at Mirus Gallery.
At first glance, the work of Sandra Chevrier tantalizes and threatens to tame with its utter surface seduction; almost luring one into a saccharine sweet comic-infused sleep before demanding your attention with the undulating force of it’s deeper message. Consumed in a moment by the undeniable beauty of Chevrier’s work, a closer inspection yields the menace of superficial illusion, revealing, in a sense, the darker truth at the heart of the work.
Digital artist Tahar Abroudjameur created this haunting image of a skull-like nebula by re-imagining a Hubble photo of two colliding spiral galaxies. Called "The Universe Is In Us," it's one of many contributions to the NASA remix project.

"I’ve been very inspired by collage art recently, thats me using my cover collage skills to create my own version of “sistine chapel”. City of gods is a part of a series of collage artworks. this one inspired by the glory of Rapture, the timeless darkness of Gotham City & the power of Olympus, it represents of power. I’ve used images of artists I personally look up to, in the process of making this collage"
