Photography: The Craft Camera

The Craft Camera, a DIY Cardboard Camera!
Via: Ufunk

While you’ll find plenty of DIY guides for building film cameras, it’s not the same story for digital.

The Craft Camera aims to solve that issue. It’s a simple DIY digital camera built out of cardboard and a low-cost electronic system from Arduino. The camera stores the images on a memory card that plugs into your computer.

Hack: Haunted Mirror

With an IOIO board, a thrift store mirror, and a little Android app, you too can have your very own haunted mirror.  Just upload your images, set the proximity sensor, and watch your house guests' jump when your mirror does an impression of an arcade when they go to adjust their make-up. Read up on all the details over at Instructables.

Hack: Myst Book

A Real Myst Book by Mike Ando

It took six years and most certainly some form of arcane ritual for Mike Ando to create a real-life Myst book… that you can open and play! Inside the book is a fully functional desktop computer with an embedded touch screen which you can use to play all of the pre-loaded Myst games. Check out full details at Ando’s website.

Design: DIY Cardboard Furniture

Designer Adrian Candela was overwhelmed by the packing waste stacked in his living room after a recent move and decided to turn the old boxes into new furniture. As someone with the pronounced cardboard fetish, it was to find this video. Check out Adrian’s website for downloadable instructions.

Hack: Pumpktris

What do you get when you combine a pumpkin with the classic video game Tetris? Pumpktris! Fully playable, embedded in a pumpkin, and with the stem serving as a controller.
"One of my habits is to write down all the crazy, fleeting ideas I have, then go back to review later rather than judging right off the bat, or even worse, forgetting them.  Earlier in the month I was looking through that idea notepad and found “Make Tetris Pumpkins” from sometime last year. My original plan had been to make forms to shape pumpkins into Tetris pieces as they grew, then stack them together for Halloween. Since Halloween was only a few weeks away and it was too late to start growing pumpkins, I thought “Why not make a pumpkin you can play Tetris on instead?"
