"366 Days" Written & Directed by Johannes Friedrich Schiehsl
Coming from Germany’s
Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, this film by Austrian director and
animator Johannes Schiehsl explores the theme of loneliness. "366 Days" tells the story of a young paramedic who discovers therapeutic qualities of human
connection.
What makes the short film so extraordinary is its emphasis on the character's internal conflict. Schiehsl uses an urban setting, a de-saturated color palette, and long static shots to very effectively convey a sense of emotional desolation.
