Fresh Take: Art Parodies

Art Parody Project 2014 by Dixie Leota

Prints available for purchase from inPRNT and Society6.

Dixie Leota has been drawing parodies of classic paintings whose subjects just won't cooperate. The Mona Lisa glares. The Scream yawns. In her parody of Eugene Delacroix's Liberty Leading the People, the French Revolution looks more like a party, and Matisse's Woman in Blue has been caught picking her nose.  You can see more pieces from Leota's art parody series on Tumblr, including the full view of her annoyed version of Gustav Klimt's The Kiss and Caravaggio's Judith Beheading Holofernes with Judith wielding a lightsaber.
