Short Film: Hibernation

"Hibernation" is an emotional science fiction film framed by a set built in a deliberately retro style reminiscent of the original Star Trek television and its contemporaries.  In it, a space explorer about to embark on a long journey to far flung corners of the universe can't shake the feeling that his relationship with his instructor, Claire, has the potential to blossom into something more.

"Hibernation" is refreshing in that it examines the emotional toll of space travel, rather than the technological aspects.  As a long-time fan of vintage sci-fi series like Battlestar Galactica, Blake's 7, and Buck Rogers, I found it to be familiar territory but a very satisfying experience.
"Joseph is an astronaut set to go where no man has gone in the Universe through the hibernation program. But something is wrong between him and his instructor Claire, and the countdown for the lift-off is on."
