Comic Round-Up: July 2, 2014

Rumors that TASM3 will be delayed ‘til 2017 sparked widespread cynicism from those who believe that Sony is panicking following TASM2's lackluster peformance at the box office. The same individuals actually believe that Sony, which is reportedly having monetary troubles, is rethinking its strategy, and might be forced to sell the rights to Spider-Man. The recent film made over $700 million, making it the lowest grossing Spider-movie. On paper, that looks bad, but it's one of the most successful movies of the year. It just goes to show that even terrible films have the potential to net a lot of money.
