When
a group of bored teenagers decide to try a new drug, they expect
they'll see a fun fun hallucinations. Instead, they find themselves plunged into a
world of unimaginable horrors where hallucinations can kill. Black Sugar is a trippy blend of coming-of-age film and Lovecraftian horror that sure to please your inner-goth. The cherry on top is that, thanks to the filmmakers' use of physical effects over computer graphics, the whole project exudes an eighties film vibe that is going to tickle all the thirty-somethings out there who up watching Nightmare on Elm Street every Halloween like I did.
