Director K-Michel Parandi created this short film as a sort of backdoor pilot for a much bigger project he's hoping will one day become a film or television series. In Parandi's dystopian future, people buy Police protection the way we buy health insurance today. The result is that if you're not paid up, you're just out of luck. Think Judge Dread meet RoboCop.
This short is obviously working with a bargain basement budget but it's spinning out high concepts worthy of William Gibson novel, leaving me hoping Parandi succeeds eventually.
