"The Shoemaker" by Dustin Cohen
Made In Brooklyn is an ongoing video series by Brooklyn-based photographer and director Dustin Cohen that celebrates the craftspeople and artisans of Brooklyn-based makers in a world of mass-produced objects. Cohen tells the story of people with a true passion for true craftsmanship and invites us in to get to know the artists as they demonstrate their craft. "I'm interested in the people, their story, what they have to say," Cohen explains. "I go and meet everyone beforehand, talk with them, see their work spaces, spend time with them, explain what I'm doing and why I think this project is important."
