In a video for Wired, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory roboticist Brett Kennedy explains why NASA might take Star Wars droid C-3PO to space, but leave his counterparts R2-D2 and BB-8 behind. Kennedy also compares the droids to real NASA robots like Robonaut, and claims that in many ways NASA robots surpass their cinema analogues.
