"Mona Lisa" by République Beirut
This pixelated Mona Lisa portrait composed of 1,292 spools of thread in 63 different colors was created as a window display for Jawdat Ejjeh & Sons clothing boutique on Mazraa street in Beirut. The piece took nine hours to set up after three months of preparation, most of which, I'm sure, consisted of a group of graphic designers viciously arguing over which shade came closest to matching DaVinci color palette.
