Short Film: Malaria

How do you turn comic book panels into a movie without animation? Edson Oda uses comic panels drawn out on individual sheets of paper and presents them by hand in a technique that manages to capture the spirit of the motion comics and the energy of a full-on short film. Malaria is a Western fantasy that tells the story of a young mercenary hired to kill death himself.
"This short film combines Origami, Kirigami, Time lapse, nankin illustration, Comic Books and Western Cinema. My first intention was to submit this project to Django Unchained Emerging Artist contest. However due to time and crew limitations I submitted the short film "The Writer" to this competition."
