Installation: State Of Mind Series

"My Chemical Romance"
"State Of Mind" Series by Korean JeeYoung Lee
On exhibit at the OPIOM Gallery in Cannes, France February 7 to March 7, 2014.

Jee Young Lee is a Korean artist who transforms her small studio into beautiful dreamscapes based inspired by Korean folk tales that prove that you don’t need Photoshop or even a large space to create amazing images. She creates all of these scenes by hand in a room that measures only 3.6 x 4.1 x 2.4 meters (approximately 12 x 13 x 8 feet), and she inserts herself into all of her compositions.  Each fantastical set echoes the burgeoning artist’s rumination of identity, emotion and desire, conceiving a wondrous, fleeting space in which both she and the viewer can escape.
