"Blind Self Portrait" by Matt Mets and Kyle McDonald
Created for the first time at the NYC Resistor Interactive Show.
This self-portrait machine does everything for you except hold the pen, but that's mainly so that you still feel a part of the process. All you need to do is rest your forearm on the moving platform while the machine goes through the motions.
Built with openFrameworks, FaceTracker, and parts of a MakerBot, the device uses a camera-equipped laptop to converts photos of your face into a line drawing using McDonald’s face-tracking software to interpret the image and translates it into x- and y-coordinates.
