Sculpture: Optimus Prime in Snow


The Japanese toy company Takara Tomy commissioned this giant Optimus Prime snow sculpture for the 53rd annual Asahikawa Winter Festival in Hokkaido, Japan. It stands 53 feet tall and 427 feet wide, and it features several gigantic built-in snow slides. Several smaller Transformers snow sculptures peppered around the festival grounds, including Bumblebee. The Japan Self-Defense Forces built the various sculptures. The fireworks display in the bottom photo were shot off to close out the festival.
