On the reasons I love Spirited
Away so much is that it's a movie about entering adulthood, as seen through a child's eyes. The movie starts out with a girl thinking she's lost her parents forever before realizing that she's got to get her
shit together. She forms unlikely friendships and grows up way
faster than she’d thought she’d have to, but along the way, she gains a greater
understanding of the past. Before too long, she's pulling herself up by
her bootstraps and proactively shaping events in the world around her.
