Paintings: Pop Culture Landscapes

German illustrator Oliver Wetter breaths fresh life into traditional mid-19th century landscapes painted by artists from the Hudson River School by digitally adding pop culture elements to them.  Kaiju, giant robots, and even Howl’s Moving Castle have been featured in his work. It just takes one enormous monster to transform an idyllic Albert Bierstad landscapes into a terrifying scene of impending mayhem.  My person favorite is "AT-AT Among The Sierra Nevada," a tranquil lake view featuring an abandoned AT-AT and a herd of deer pausing for a drink at its feet.
