The cast for the upcoming Star Wars VII was announced yesterday, and the only new female face was newcomer Daisy Ridley. She's made a few television appearances, but she also starred in this sci-fi short film from the Sci-Fi London 48 Hour Film Challenge where she gets to be a badass. If this short film is any indication, Ridley's character will be following in the footsteps of Portman's Amidala, rather than Fisher's Leia, sitting in a cell, waiting for rescue.
