Street artist Curiot
(Favio Martinez) is known for his mythical beasts motif, as well as a distinctive style that blends ancient Mexican tribal traditions with subtle modern geometric designs. The
Mexico-city based artist grew up in the U.S., and frequently exhibits his work in galleries across southern California, including the FFDG. You can see much more of his work on Tumblr or Flickr.
Looking through this gallery, I can't help but think that a new edition of Where the Wild Things Are (perhaps a Spanish translation?) illustrated by Curiot would rock.
