Short Film: Vienna waits for you

Dominik Hartl directed "Vienna Waits For You" as his thesis for the Film Academy Vienna in 2012. The horror film short tells the story of a young woman who moves into an apartment, only to have her youth siphoned off by the building itself.  In an unusual twist Hartl has decided to throw a bit of humor into the mix, portraying the situation as the absurdity it is.

In the film, Anna moves to the big city to be with a boyfriend who summarily dumps her, so she moves into an apartment that an elderly woman is anxious to be rid of.  It’s comfortable, government subsidized, and it sucks the lifeblood from whatever tenant signs on the dotted line.
"Anna should have had a closer look at the fine-print of her rental contract – for the old Viennese apartment is a creature with never ending appetite, living off the youth of its residents."
