May 3rd is Free Comic Book Day! Show your support for the continuing existence of comic book stores by visiting your local comic book store! Over two thousand participating stores will be offering 60 free titles
from a wide range of publishers, including Marvel, DC Entertainment, IDW, Archaia, Dark
Horse Comics, Image Comics, Bongo Comics, Boom Studios, Archie Comics,
Fantagraphics, Drawn and Quarterly, Oni Press, 2000 AD, Red 5 Comics,
Scholastic, Top Shelf Productions, and Viz Media.
Of particular interest this year, Marvel will be offering Guardians of the Galaxy and Rocket Raccoon, Archaia will be offering a Mouse Guard hardcover anthology sampler, and Arcana Studio will be offering The Intrinsic, all of which look to be very good. USA Today has a guide on what to choose on Free Comic Book Day.
Comic book stores around the world will hold events to attract new customers and re-interest old customers. Bleeding Cool has a list of these events.

Either call your local comic shop, check out their Facebok page and/or website to see what their Free Comic Book Day policy plans are in addition to what extra events are going to be taking place during their FCBD. Some comics shops give out 1-2 comics, while others give out more. It is good to know how many comics you can expect to get for free so you can plan out if you want to visit other comics shops to see if you can get more free comics and different books
