Pirate3D is a small start-up with big ambitions. They want to be the company that finally brings 3D printing technology into everyone’s home. Their first product, The Buccaneer, is a huge step forward in the right direction. This little printer has the same general spec as the popular Replicator 2, it looks like a high-end Apple product, and it costs less than a video game console.
The Kickstarter project for The Buccaneer was launched on May 30th, and
it raised over US$640,000 in funding inside its first ten minutes. Currently, you can order a unit for the mind-boggling low price of US$347, with PLS spools running ten dollars a piece. Head on over to the project’s Kickstarter page for more details.
The Buccaneer works with all major software applications, but it comes with its own user-friendly design software. Better yet, it all works via WiFi, so you don't need to set the thing up on your desk. In fact, you can leave it pretty much anywhere, because The Buccaneer's working parts are entirely enclosed and ventilated through a carbon filter to minimize the stench of melting plastic.
Smart Objects allow everyday users to easily customize 3D objects without having to learn how to use 3D Design Software. Just drag/click a few buttons and you will be able to edit and create basic objects in any way you want. Once its done, you can share your image with your friends or send it directly to The Buccaneer to have it made!
Just thought that you might be interested. We launched our very own crowdfunding campaign for our company, Protos Eyewear, to crowdfund custom fit eyewear made via 3D printing.
ReplyDeleteWe actually wanted to use the Kickstarter platform but unfortunately they no longer allow eyewear. In turn, we have had to work extra hard to get people to know about our campaign. If it's okay, we would love to get your help and support in getting the word out to your friends and readers.
Please do check us out at protoseyewear.com to get a jist of what our project is about.
All the information is on the site, but should you have any inquiries or concerns regarding our campaign, please feel free to contact me at xavier@protoseyewear.com and I'll certainly get back to you as soon as I can.
Web designers and social media app development should be seen as an extension of practical managers or project managers who sit at the helm of operational challenges. Your owners and managers should be aware of these decisions and often communicate with each other about how best to run their business.
