My anus is bleeding, my spoon is too big, silly hats only & I am a banana!
"All Pumpkins are Carved/Shaved with Woodcarving tools not painted. The black and grays are created from sharpies and pumpkin white space.
My friends and I started a Pumpkin Carving contest in my home town which has since branched out and was held at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket Mass last year.
Here are some of the Pumpkins I did for my personal home display."
"Another pumpkin carving season passes. For the first time I entered a contest. The Blizzard pumpkin contest is impossible... I didn't even place in the top five. It's going to take a while to recover from this one... I know it isn't perfect, but I was hopeful. I guess I'll have to step it up a lot for next year."
"This is a cake I've been wanting to do forever but only recently had time to do it. If you don't recognise it immediately, this is Majora's Mask from the game of the same namesake.
This was definitely a bit of a challenge. By far, the hardest part of the cake to achieve was symmetry. Using a floppy, sticky substance that dries quickly in the air, stretches when lifted and cracks if manipulated too long means you need to work fast. Fast and accuracy aren't best friends. My sister scoffed as I complained about the imperfections. But you gotta strive for perfect, right?
Well, it isn't perfect. But overall, I'm uncharacteristically pleased by the final result. The last few cakes I've done I've started to feel like I'm the boss of the fondant, rather than it controlling me. We understand each other now and so it's not this stressful battle of wills. The result is an ability to create things I wouldn't have dreamed of doing a year ago. There's lots here that could be improved, of course. But it's a work in progress and I, finally, am able to see progression."
"Bitch, you can’t just carve yo self up a Meatwad jack-o-lantern and not invite ol’ Boxy Brown to the party. Whazzat? I AM invited? You daaaaamn right."
"My (now ex) boyfriend made this pumpkin, but because I took the picture, I'm submitting it as art. That, and Aperture Science is way-awesome."
"One of my habits is to write down all the crazy, fleeting ideas I have, then go back to review later rather than judging right off the bat, or even worse, forgetting them. Earlier in the month I was looking through that idea notepad and found “Make Tetris Pumpkins” from sometime last year. My original plan had been to make forms to shape pumpkins into Tetris pieces as they grew, then stack them together for Halloween. Since Halloween was only a few weeks away and it was too late to start growing pumpkins, I thought “Why not make a pumpkin you can play Tetris on instead?"
"If you've never seen a website, you are a liar! (You're on one right now.) Consciously or not, the first thing you notice when you visit a website is how the site LOOKS, which is controlled by the CSS Stylesheet. CSS is the fashion of the web- it makes sites pretty (or very very ugly). And as our lives migrate more and more onto the world wide web, our presence online becomes a central way to define and express ourselves. So before you lay out your outfit for tomorrow, take a look at your website and make sure you match!"
"The Nora Fries CryoMech is the reboot we’ve all been waiting for: a bipedal freeze cannon controlled by Mr. Freeze and powered by his undead wife."
