My sculpture "Game Over" shows dying Mario in Princess Peach arms. Made from polystyrene foam.Carved from a large block of polystyrene foam, Lewandowski's work "Game Over" is new take on Michelangelo's La Pietá, a marble masterpiece that resides in St. Peter's Basilica. The sculpture depicts Mary cradling Jesus in her lap after his crucifixion. Lewandowski poses Princess Peach as Mary and Mario as Jesus to drive home the point about the true meaning of "game over."
