"The Grey Matter" is a dark horror comedy directed by Peter and Luke McCoubrey that feels like an eighties comedy horror film. (Think Big Trouble in Little China or Little Shop of Horrors.) "The Grey Matter" is a story of boy meets girl meets head injury. In it, a man gets romantic guidance from a bizarre creature he unearths from his head wound. There are some solid practical FX in it, and the dialogue is fun which helps keep the film interesting. It's a great short, have fun.
The dark horror/sci-fi comedy short played at the Nitehawk shorts festival, the Show Me Shorts Film Fest, the Sidewalk film festival, San Antonio film festival, the Brooklyn film festival and was awarded a Vimeo Staff Pick this month. Read an interview with the Brothers at Indiewire.
Take a moment to watch this short film if you're in the mood for a darkly humorous laugh.

"An office stiff wakes up in an alley mysteriously covered in blood. In the aftermath, he attracts the attention of his beautiful coworker, granting him a new lease on life …but something strange is afoot."
