"The Offering" Directed by Ryan Patch
"The Offering" is an excellent old school horror film about a dark ritual. What's most impressive about the film is that it manages to build a nearly palpable tension not through special effects and overt threats, but rather through deliberate pacing, body language, and atmosphere. This is film making at its best, built upon a foundation of sound storytelling, rather gimmicks.
"A father and son travel deep into the woods to make an offering to a mysterious force. When they realize that a key element is missing, they must improvise before time runs out."
