"To Venner" is a bleak coming-of-age story set in a dystopian future. In it, women and children everywhere have been killed off by a disease, leaving the men of the world alone with the very last two orphans. The men appear to have been transformed into mindless drones driven by their sexual urges, two
young children battle to survive, believing that one day a "girl will
come to save the world." The film tackles themes of gender, sexuality, and hope
in a veiled commentary on modern gender politics.
