"Old/New" - Narrated by Patton Oswalt by Red Giant Films
"Old/New"
is a very cute short film about consumerism... sort of. The message get a bit buried in the delivery, but the piece is narrated by
Patton Oswalt who narrates a story of a man who uses time travel to figure out the balance between loving old and new things.
Created by Seth Worley and Aharon Rabinowitz,
this very clever little short left us scratching our heads. So we're
not supposed to just buy old or just buy new stuff, rather both stuff?
Who dictates the "right" thing to buy? Also remember to buy a mixture of
stuff so you can share it with someone because everything is better
when you're with someone else, or at least it is for the main character. To the flea market! Let's fill our lives with things and love!
"Old/New is the story of Drew McHugh, a man whose penchant for the new -- new devices, new fashion, new friends -- is challenged when he discovers the rustic appeal of old-fashioned things. He quickly becomes obsessed with the reclaimed and well-worn - plummeting face-first down the rabbit hole of novelty and nostalgia."
