"Yardbird" Directed Michael Spiccia of Bridle Path Films
"Yardbird" is an eerie short science fiction film shot in Australia. In it, a young girl living in a junk yard on the outskirts of a derelict town confronts the pack of local bullies that torment her father.
The film is interesting in that it play on a story trope that has become increasingly popular of late - that of a young girl possessing untapped lethality. We've seen it in Firefly, Hanna, Hit Girl from Kick Ass, Colombiana, Kite, and the film adaptation of Kite.
If the recent remake of Carry had been this good, it would have been a blockbuster.
