Vlogger Evan Puschak of The Nerdwriter examines the superhero
franchises and how the seemingly permanent infallibility of characters can become tiresome. Puschak compares the satirical humor of Deadpool and the hopeless desolation of Logan.
"In the end Logan makes the final turn into reaffirmation one last act of sacrificial heroics that reaffirms the myth even after exposing it as inadequate. You know it makes me wonder if this is the limit of superhero movies. It’s unclear whether a film that sought to fully demythologize this myth could ever really get made or if the genre itself is even mature enough to handle such a thing"

Flash fiction for International Womens Day: Inspired by the phrase "Nevertheless, she persisted", Tor books is presenting some short stories by women authors throughout the day today.
Mohammad Sayed was abandoned by his family in Afghanistan after his house was bombed and he was left paralysed. Now he has become a US citizen, and designed a comic book superhero - Wheelchair Man - based on his own life story. Sayed's idea of not giving up hope and started to shift when he learned about Mahatma Gandhi. That was his introduction to using non-violence as a weapon, and the whole concept blew his mind. “Before learning about Gandhi, my role models were warlords,” Sayed says.
The response to Logan has been overwhelmingly positive, and fans have been smothering him with love and praise. Hugh has responded with the following “thank you” video that’s loaded with awesome fan art.

Fan Film: Wolverine

Back in 2013, SoKrispyMedia released a Wolverine fan film in anticipation of James Mangold's The Wolverine,
and it's pretty damn awesome. So even though it's nearly two
years old and most of you have probably already seen it, I wanted to share it
with you because it's one of the best X-Men fan films I've seen. It doesn't shy away from the brutality at the center of Logan's character, and as a result, it features some pretty graphic violence. You've been warned.

Crafts: Wolverine Stained Glass

So, this magnificent stained glass creation has been making the rounds of the internet, but it turns out that it was created by Martian Glassware guy who sold a lot of stained glass crafts through Etsy that were never delivered. After he got called out on it, he yanked photos of his stuff and did his best to erase all connections with his work. I redacted his name out of respect for his wishes, but I'm still posting the photo, because it's a great piece.

This is the illustration series that caused the controversy that lead Sean Murphy to hang up his hat.
"Because I was a pro and because I wasn’t selling them, I figured I’d be fine. After three conventions of EVERYONE telling me I should sell them, I broke down and sold some. At the last show that season, I sold the remaining 40 copies or so.Murphy readily admitted he was in the wrong, not only in using characters he doesn’t own the rights to but also in thinking that Marvel would overlook the sales, and he's no longer taking commissions or selling sketch books.
Then Marvel called. I explained that I didn’t have a warehouse of sketchbooks, I only made around 200 (or close to that) and mostly I gave them away. I explained how none of the Marvel editors complained when I handed them one, and my lack of hiding the ABCs should show the innocent nature of my endeavor. I even offered to sign a Cease and Desist, and pay them the money I made selling the last 40. But Marvel wanted the rights to the ABCs–they wanted to own them and pay me nothing. I wasn’t willing to do that, so I got a lawyer. And we eventually came together and agreed to drop the subject if I simply removed them from my site and promised not to make any more sketchbooks."
