News: A 12-year-old in Taipei, Taiwan tripped and damaged a 350-year-old $1.5 million painting by Paolo Porpora on display at the Face of Leonardo: Images of a Genius exhibition. Video shows the boy stumbling over the divider in front of the painting, and stopping his fall by putting his hand on the painting, leaving a fist-sized hole. News: According to Gamastura, Youtube stars like Seananners may be breaking FTC disclosure guidelines. Adam "SeaNanners" Montoya has heavily promoted a new video game called Dead Realm on his Youtube channel. He does not mention that he has a financial stake in the game's publisher, 3BlackDot, in every video about the game. The FTC has specific guidelines for Youtubers and product endorsement, which Adam (and others) have ignored.
In 2013, 230 researchers signed an open letter condemning the American Psychological Association's public stance on video game violence, which they say ignores all the evidence against claims that video game violence causes real violence.

Redditor and father hahabird posted photos of the awesome life-size glowing Minecraft
block he made for his son’s birthday. Since the blocks in the game are
about one meter, he decided to build one side of a cube true to scale.
Then he added color-changing LEDs which can be remote controlled. The
entire project took about a week in his spare time and only cost $85 in
parts and paints.
Now if he can just keep his kid from taking a pick axe to the rest of the dry wall...
"My son loves Minecraft, so I thought I'd build him a life-size block of ore for his birthday. In the game each block is a one-meter cube, and that would take up way too much space, so instead I did one face that could hang on the wall, ready to be mined.
It's lit from the back with RGB LEDs that glow through translucent acrylic panels. A remote control lets you change the color, so it can be redstone, gold, diamond, etc.
It took about a week of work, off and on in the evenings. The cost breakdown was around $20 for the LEDs, $20 for the wood, $20 for the paint and supplies, and $25 for the acrylic panels.
I haven't given it to him yet. I finished it today, put it up for the picture, and then took it down and hid it. Tonight while he's asleep I'm going to install it, turn it on, and stick a bow on it."

The kitchen is a staple of TV sitcoms. Practically every major comedy series from I Love Lucy to Seinfeld has been set, at least in part, in a kitchen. But there's no kitchen more recognizable than that of 742 Evergreen Terrace, the home of the Simpsons. Its blue countertops, neon green stove, and corn cob-covered curtains are all instantly recognizable.
Joe Hamilton and Marcia Andreychuk have now re-created the iconic animated kitchen inside their Calgary home as part of a remodel of the fifties era kitchen, and they’re doing an amazing job.
Andreychuk found the perfect fabric for Marge’s corn cob curtains on Spoonflower, which she used to sew the curtains herself.

Joe and Marcia are currently saving up to buy new “’retro-inspired’ granny-apple green appliances,“ but in the meantime they’ve used contact paper to make their countertops, cabinets, washer/dryer, fridge, and stove match the Simpsons’ versions. (Though how you cook on a stovetop covered in contact paper is a mystery to me.)
Andreychuk told the CBC in an interview that they’re thinking about renovating their basement to look like Moe’s Tavern as their next project!

A Redditor, only identified as ‘Swagpac_Shakur’, has transformed his car into a brilliant ride that fits perfectly in the movie scenes of Tron.
He wrote that the 2014 Toyota 86 GTS is a common sight around his neighborhood, so he wanted to do something to make his stand out. Drawing inspiration from Tron, he strategically covered his ride in high visibility reflective tape, which resulted in the car taking on a magnificent appearance at night.
