Video Round-Up: October 29, 2015

As I said, Honest Trailers doesn’t really have much to mock when it comes to the quality of Inside Out, though they do make some fair points about the emotional range of Riley, especially when they point out all the emotions that don’t star in the movie. One could argue that emotions get more complicated as you get older, but we still won’t see any new emotion characters in a potential sequel, because as we’ve seen in the mind of adults, there are still only five emotions in control.

Sweets: Life-Sized DeLorean Cake

London-based food artists Tattooed Bakers created this gigantic cake shaped like a DeLorean from Back to the Future for Bullhorn Live, an event recently held by the London branch of software maker Bullhorn.

The cake features the Delorean hovering in mid-air with its signature gull-wing doors open.  It incorporates built-in lights, edible gadgetry, and a smoke machine tucked up the exhaust.  It's hard to tell where the cake starts and the car begins, but the entire hood of the car is edible, as are the seats inside the vehicle.  Meanwhile all of the wiring was made of licorice.

Cosplay: Boba Fett Minifig

Redditor iqwertyi just completed this phenomenal costume that puts a unique twist on the classic standby of Boba Fett.  According to iqwertyi, it took about seven weekends to complete the costume, which he designed using CAD software to make sure the measurements scaled.  He added holes to the minifig's hands to allow his own hands to stick out, and he mounted a small fan inside the body to help him keep cool.  Check out the complete build process in this Imgur photo album to get a better idea of how this fantastic costume was made.

Crafts: Take this House First

"May Cthulhu take this house first" by Portland, Oregon-based Brita A
Prints available for purchase from Society6. US$22.88

A plea to the gods for the coming holiday season.
""After vigintillions of years great Cthulhu was loose again, and ravening for delight."

Wherever you happen to be when Dread Cthulhu finally emerges from his deep slumber, if you're lucky, you won't be there long. This geektastic piece of embroidery, emblazoned with the plea "May Cthulhu take this house first," was recently given to me as a gift from my friend Brita, who made it to hang near my Cthulhumas tree. She made it in hopes that the tentacular Great Old One won't take our annual celebration of Cthulhumas as a sign of disrespect.
