Cameron McCulloch‘s short film Home is a striking tale of the everyday travails of an unnamed woman (Jamie McDowell) struggling to survive in the wake of a zombie outbreak and the consequences that her actions have on her soul. The short is well made and it builds to a conclusion that’s both disturbing, ambiguous, and tonally perfect.

Sculpture: Crayon Fire Sculpture

Unwanted Visitor: Portrait of Wildfire by Herb Williams

In his latest work, Williams has used thousands of Crayolas to build enormous representations of the wildfires that burned across the state this summer. The installation, which just opened at the National Ranching Heritage Center at Texas Tech University, was photographed by Ashton Thornhill.  In time, the crayons will actually melt into solid pieces under the Texan heat, blending their colors together into something far more life like.
