"Another cover for February's Steampunk Alternate covers."

Event: Comics Unmasked: Art and Anarchy in the UK (2 May 2014 – 19 August 2014) will explore the full potential of the medium, demystifying the process of creating comics while presenting work that is challenging to the status quo. Its materials unflinchingly examine issues around gender, violence, sexuality, drug-taking and politics.

Interview: Artist Mike S. Miller talks about his work on the two George R.R. Martin adaptations, The Hedge Knight and The Sworn Sword, which are being republished by Amazon’s Jet City comics imprint.

Interview: Writer James D. Robinson chats about his Marvel work, including All-New Invaders, which launched last week.

Alan Moore has been denouncing superheroes. Moore, whose creations include the superhero series Watchmen, says now that it's a "cultural catastrophe" for adults to embrace superheroes as serious art.  Is it really OK for Alan Moore to shame comic readers?

Back in 1986, comics legend Alex Toth did a thorough critique of a Steve Rude Johnny Quest story. He didn't mince his words. Toth was a bona fide genius of comics art and storytelling. Reading his at-times-apoplectic critique of Steve Rude's work is very educational for anyone who cares about comics.  This piece comes from a ConceptArt forum thread.

In case you were wondering, Stan Lee will not have a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy. He said, “This is the one group that I didn’t create. I’m not even sure who they all are.” Burn. That’s ok, neither does most of the audience who will probably be going to see it.

Seven End of the Year Lists We Could Have Done but Didn't

With Watchmen, The Dark Knight Returns and Maus taken as given, which comics would you take to a desert Island? (part 2)
