"Melting Men" by Nele Azevedo, 2009
Azevedo carved 1,000 figures out of ice and situated them on the steps
of the concert hall in Berlin’s Gendarmenmarkt square. They began
melting within half an hour, which drives home the warning of the
project that the melting ice caps will most likely cause sea-levels to
rise more than 3.3 feet by 2100.
