Fresh Take: Scary Potter
Scary Potter Series by Dylan Pierpont
Concept artist Dylan Pierpont imagines an even darker version of the Harry Potter saga you know and love. His illustrations evoke the spine-chilling spirit of Alfonso Cuarón's Prisoner of Azkaban.
"A while back I was thinking about a few of the stories and characters that had a big influence on me growing up. And while Harry Potter was by far and away the most age appropriate of the group, I couldn't help but remember how dark some of the themes became over the course of the series. So this project is test to push those ideas to the forefront and see what we come up with... #ScaryPotter style!"

A Dinosaur So Well Preserved It Looks Like a Statue: Borealopelta, discovered accidentally by Canadian miners, is one of the most spectacular fossil finds of all time.
Derrick Lin creates vignettes of the daily grind using miniatures and office supplies, then photographs them with his iPhone.

Illustration: Men of Twin Peaks
"Men of Twin Peaks" by San Francisco-based Emma Munger
San Francisco-based illustrator Emma Munger created this awesome series depicting the men of Twin Peaks in classic pin-up poses in the style of American tattoo artist Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins. Each one is presented with a quote and accessories that match their
wonderfully distinct characters. Agent Cooper enjoys a damn fine cup of coffee and a slice of cherry pie, Sheriff Truman twirls a frosted donut on his finger, and consummate angler Pete Martell is depicted in thigh-deep water holding up his infamous fish in the percolator. Also, don't miss the Ladies of Twin Peaks.

Fresh Take: The Addams Family
This would be an amazing anime series. Dark humor and Japanese culture would compliment each other very well.

Fresh Take: Star Wars as Chinese Art
"Every single piece of art is paired with a different Chinese New Year’s greeting that is wishing for the good fortune of family, continued success in business, or hopes for others to stay safe and healthy. Tik Ka would love to print these pieces as posters or to put them onto the traditional red pockets or red envelopes that people give to each other at Chinese New Year’s."

Fresh Take: Marvel Characters as Chinese Art

As you can see, the results are spectacular. You could totally see these Avengers fitting in perfectly in an ancient Chinese opera, or showing up on a vase you’d buy on a trip to Beijing. Included among the characters in this series are Captain America, Iron Man, War Machine, the Winter Soldier, Black Widow, Hawkeye, the Vision, Scarlet Witch, Black Panther, Ant-Man, Spider-Man, and Civil War absentee Avengers Hulk and Thor. And seemingly just for shiggles, the artist has included Marvel’s most recent blockbuster action star Deadpool as well. Sure, why not?

Fresh Take: Simpsons Tarot Cards
"Simpsons Tarot Cards" by Singapore-based Dustbean11
Deviant Art user dustbean11
created this excellent set of tarot cards featuring the cast of Simpsons. So far there are only
a dozen cards, so I hope there are more on the way. The one's he's finished are pitch perfect, though, featuring Grandpa Simpson as the Hermit, Ned Flanders as The Devil, and Homer as the fool.

Fresh Take: Dark Jedi and Renegade Princess
A gorgeously moody cyberpunk take on Star Wars
"Here is my 2d submission for the "Re-Imagining Star Wars" CG Plus challenge - decided to mix my two favorite movie franchises: Blade Runner and Star Wars. I used a bunch of different techniques - (a lot of them learned from Maciej Kuciara's Learn Squared class). I still see a bunch of things I can be nit picky about, but I had to get this thing done."
