Illustration: Anxious Dragons

"What if instead of being proud miserly creatures, all dragons were just super nervous? They hoarded out of financial anxiety and whatnot.

(I doodled a dragon who ended up looking really concerned and I decided to clean it up and draw a few more to go with it. Dragons are the most fun to draw when they are the opposite of fearsome)"

Illustration: Uncommon Dragon Hoards 2

"So the first four hoards were so popular that theyve become kind of on ongoing series ! some of the ones here feature the commissioners ocs and personal items, but ALL of them involve things very dear to me: weird lizards on piles of junk"

Illustration: Uncommon Dragon Hoards

I absolutely love this series by Lauren Dawson.  The dragons we grew up reading about are best known for hoarding gold, jewels, and magical artifacts, but Lauren's dragons have more unusual - and more relate-able - tastes.  I'm pretty sure if I were a lizard, I'd be one of Dawson's breed.  (Maybe a computer cable dragon?)
"WHERE are they getting this stuff !!"

Illustrations by Luke Mancini

Luke Mancini is a concept artist working for Blizzard Entertainment on Starcraft 2.  His specialties seem to be robots and dragons.

Artist: Rhads

Illustrations by Rhads

Rhads is an illustrator hailing from the Omsk region of Russia, which most of us would simply refer to as Siberia.  Despite, or maybe because, of his frigid environs, Rhads' illustrations exude warmth and cheer.  Much of his work shares one of several reoccurring themes: idyllic pastel skies, sea creatures, and the ocean.

Rhads creates musical accompaniments for each of his pieces, which you can check out on his website.

"Each egg's scales are hand cut and placed by yours truly. The center is made out of home made rice krispy treats and the outside is covered in royal icing and then fondant. Each egg is finished with edible dusting powder: gold on the cream egg, silver and green on the green egg, and red on the black egg, as according to the books."

Eggs available for purchase from Etsy. US$98
"This gorgeous gold and cream Dragon Egg is fashioned from a real rhea egg. The scales are the natural rich creamy sheen of rhea egg shells while the area between the scales are etched with vinegar then lined with gold leaf to give real dimensionality and richness to the egg. You can spend hours running your fingers over these 3 dimensional scales and gazing into the variation of golden and cream."

Sculpture: Magma Dragons

"Magmax is my most intricate design to date, taking well over 40 hours to complete. That sort of time spent on a dragon tends to leave you a bit attached. But the new baby fund is much more important to build up, so these two are now up for auction on Ebay for anyone interested."
