Sculpture: Small Key Ball

Available for purchase at Etsy. US$95

I can honestly say I’ve never seen anything like this before. It comes with a small red gum timber ring so you can easily display it. The shop also has other items made from keys, reclaimed copper pipe, wire, and coins… including a key cube that reminds me both of the puzzle box from Hellraiser and the Borg cube from Star Trek.
“This small ball is made from over 50 individually curved keys, including one skeleton key, hand pieced together to form a polished metal sphere.”

Posters: The Universal Monsters

Frankenstein

Frankenstein is the latest addition to the series, debuting as part of the Universal Monsters Art Show at the Mondo Gallery.

Spiderman

Dan Szczepanski carves the most amazing pumpkins you've ever seen!  They feature the Universal Monsters, the Disney Haunted Mansion crew, and many, many more of your favorite characters. The best thing about his pumpkins though are their shadows.  When you light-up some of Szczepanski pumpkins, not only do the pumpkins glow, they also project a “shadow” on the wall behind them. Check it out!

Illustration: Star Trek Cast

Artist Dusty Abell has created a massive poster featuring "at least one, sometimes more, character, entity, starship or structure from every episode of [Star Trek: The Original] series." There is a key to everything in the poster here, and close up shots of characters farther in the background can be seen closer up here.
"This piece is for all the Original Star Trek fans out there like me...... I've been working on this for a while now and I'm happy to finally get to share it with people. Definitely a labor of love this one and SO much fun to do at the same time. I was trying to think about the first time I could recall seeing the show when I was little and my best guess is it had to have been before I was 4 years old in 1973, because I distinctly remember being aware of the show before the animated series debuted in September of 73'. The series was probably more responsible than anything else in sparking my love of sci-fi and fantasy and i'll always be grateful that I grew up during its initial run in syndication."

In his his final project, Pierre-Antoine Marraud created a hyper-detailed building layout for humans to weather future dystopian scenarios. The building, considered an “Incubator”, is a rich mĂ©lange of radical utopian and dystopian references, both literary and architectural. Behind the ironic adoption of a kitsch imagery, it is easy to find allusions to Rem Koolhaas’ Exodus, BoullĂ©’s Cenotaph, Archizoom’s No Stop City and Superstudio’s Continuous Monument, while the written storyboard echoes Huxley, Debord and Ballard oeuvre.
