Typography: Cosmic Sans
“Cosmic Sans” by Brad McNally
Designer and space enthusiast Brad McNally had a dream, and he sent
that dream out into the world on Twitter: “I want to make an awesome
version of Comic Sans called Cosmic Sans.” People read this tweet and
got excited. So Brad’s wife (and owner of Constellation & Co.) Sara McNally set out to plan this thing! We sent out a call for entries and filled our roster in under 48 hours. We were inspired to organize this show by other rad collaborative projects like The Everywhere Project, The Momentus Project, and 50 and 50.

Typography: Sony Music Timeline
The Sony Music Timeline celebrates 125 years of musical history covering almost 150 square meters of wall space in Sony’s Derry Street headquarters. Using just CNC cut vinyl as the sole medium, 54 columns measuring over 2 meters tall cover feature nearly 1000 of Sony Music's signed artists from 1887 to the present day.
Emma Pike, VP Industry Relations, who commissioned the piece said, “The brief was to bring the inspiration of our music into the heart of our building and make our office space live and breathe our incredible musical legacy. Alex’s beautiful graphics and illustrations do exactly that.”

Typography: Homesick Blues
"I´ve been thinking for a lot of time on doing a personal project where I could get out of the computer for a little bit, and have pleasure doing something handmade. Getting back to the basics.
Inspired by Bob Dylan´s Subterranean Homesick Blues video, where he flips cards with the lyrics as the song plays, I decided to recreate those cards with handmade type. I ended up doing all the lyrics, and not just some of the words, as Dylan did.
There are 66 cards done in one month during my spare time using only pencil, black tint pens and brushes. The challenge was not to use the computer, no retouching was allowed. Getting a letter wrong meant starting the page over.
I had a lot of fun doing this project, researching, practicing and getting deeper on typography."
