"Dragons might be intrigued by flattery and riddling words. But unfortunately for Bilbo, Smaug is much more interested in disposing of guests than he is with talking to them."

Video: LEGO Batman Vs Superman
The Dark Knight from the LEGO movies challenges the Man of Steel to a
battle. For some reason. Superman doesn’t get it either and refuses to
fight, but Bats is determined to throw everything but the Bat Kitchen
Sink at him.

Lego Creation: IronMan Bust
"IronMan Bust" by George Panteleon’s (ZetoVince)
Surprisingly, this 24cm tall build only required about 700 pieces to create.
Lego Creation: Jurassic Park
"The Jurassic Park Gate is a famous trademark of the Jurassic Park Series. It first appeared in the first movie 1993 when the tour cars entered the Park and it is definiately one of the most iconic scenes in motion picture history. Now recreated in Lego form too - ohh, with some extra spice..."
Lego Creation: Calvin & Hobbes
Evan and our very own Simon have revisited their childhoods and created a beautiful homage to what is possibly the best comic strip of all time, Calvin and Hobbes.

Lego Creation: Company of Thorin
"The Company of Thorin Oakenshield" by Finland-based Pate-keetongu
Pate-keetongu of Cyclopic Bricks recently posted a series in which he recreated Gandalf and all fourteen members of Thorin Oakenshield's party from Tolkien's The Hobbit. I personally thought that Fili and Gandalf turned out especially well, but the sheer detail of this set tells me that Pate poured a lot of love into this project.
Of course, we've cover a lot of amazing Lord of the Rings Lego sets, including huge Minas Tirith and Rivendell sets, but I would pay good money to see these along side a giant Smaug in a scale Lake-town set.

"It took 656 days counting from Balin Bust posted before the premiere of An Unexpected Journey, or 580 days if counting from the posting date of Balin & Dwalin. That is around 10% of my current life, and that sound quite lot if you ask me! Naturally all the positive feedback I got during the project on Flickr, Eurobricks and Palikkatakomo plus from friends from Bio-Klaani and surrondings gave me heaps of inspiration. This wasn’t a project at the beginning.
I just threw together Balin and Dwalin and Oin and Bifur and Thorin and there I went… And then somebody asked if I’ll build Gandalf and Bilbo and I said that yes, why not? And I’m glad I did, as they are iconic characters and turned out decent."

Illustration: 80’s LEGO
"80’s LEGO" by UK-based Dan Shearn
"This is a personal project based on one of my favourite childhood toys, and now my sons favourite as well, Lego. I love the iconic nature of the mini figure it has endured decades and is now a design icon in its own right. I grew up in the 80’s and played with lego mostly in the 80’s so i decided it would be fun to produce 80 mini figures based on my favourite 80’s icons."

Sweets: Edible Chocolate LEGOs
Edible Chocolate LEGOs by Japan-based Akihiro Mizuuchi
Designer Akihiro Mizuuchi has created a method for creating edible chocolate LEGO bricks using molds. It's hard to
determine how functional they are, as he only used them to create very, very simple models, but hey, how long does chocolate sit around your house before being eaten? Now, if only he'd color some white chocolate, he sell these as sets.

Lego Creation: Bank of the Prophet
Rigney did an amazing job recreating one of the most distinctive sets from Bioshock: Infinite. For a quick run-down on the Bank of the Prophet, check out the BioShock Wiki. The SongBird isn't too shabby, either. I wish this guy would try his hand at building Gringots.
"From Bioshock Infinite's floating city of Columbia: The Bank of the Prophet.
Here's a whole slew of views for everyone who didn't get to Brickworld Chicago to see it in person. Songbird of course, isn't new. But he has a much more appropriate perch."

Lego Creation: Spingfield, USA
Spingfield, USA (from The Simpsons) by Woodridge, Illinois-based Matt De Lanoy
The internet loves Legos and The Simpsons, so this Lego recreation of Springfield ought to send the web into a frenzy. Personally, I think one of the Legolands needs to install a fully detailed version of the city.
In the mean time, Lanoy hasn't done half bad, especially considering the price of Legos. The Simpsons’ house, Ned Flanders’ house, Moe’s Tavern, Springfield Elementary School, the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, Krusty Burger, the Kwik-e-Mart, The Android’s Dungeon, Springfield Town Square, and even the Stonecutter Lodge, and the Springfield Tire Fire... It's all there with the proper minifigs and some awesome little details.
Ironically, the project comes not long after the special episode "Brick Like Me" captured America's most famous yellow family and their worldly surroundings in LEGO-form, causing us to once more geek out over the collision of two of our favourite things.

Video: LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy
Sean Willets & Forrest Whaley has recreated the trailer for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy in LEGO. It's a shot-perfect recreation, with little touches like having Admiral Ackbar in the background in one scene, and other non-Guardians minifigs walking around. He even animates the mouths!

Featured Site: LEGO Stories
LEGO Stories is a single-serve Tumblr devoted to creating tableaus of popular books and movies using LEGO minifigs. It's a fairly simple concept, but it makes for some entertaining browsing. We've gathered some of the best examples of the site's gallery of photos here.
