"My idea came from the memory of when I tagged along an older cousin to arcades when I was a little kid. He was really into fighting games at the time. One day he decided to play Mortal Kombat II and I remember him being good enough that he started a line. I'll always remember Sub Zero ripping someone's head off and revealing a bloody and dangling spine and that scared the crap out of me.
I decided to depict MKI and MKII characters executing their fatalities mashed-up with common outdoor play activities. (Going to an arcade counts as leaving the house ^_^)."

"Friday Night Frights" by Patrick Ballestros
Interview: Eric Durst discusses the visual effects of Snowpiercer
Interview: Meet Carol Rossetti. Her illustrations are re-imagining how we see women.
This clueless diatribe from Tom Scharpling, talking about Game of Thrones, that "the elf show," works as a brilliant metacommentary on how people misinterpret fantasy, as well as inter-fandom strife of all kinds. (Before you mistake Scharpling for some sort of troll, keep in mind that Scharpling's geek cred is pretty well-established.)
Official Jurassic World Concept Art has leaked. Plus, there's a bunch of fake Jurassic Park 4 concept art going around.
Sarah McIntyre dives into the question of whether or not an aspiring artist should attend an art school, using a number of examples and strategies from her own life experience. This ranges from the philsophical to such practicalities as perhaps choosing a school close to where you live so that you will have a greater chance of popping by to use the facilities that are available to you.

Mash-Up: Adventures in Bran-Sitting
Part of the Fantasy in the City art show at Ltd Art Gallery.
"Ltd Art Gallery had another great group show (Fantasy in the City) in July 2014 and this time it focused on fantasy and what that would look like mashed with modern city living. As a huge Game of Thrones fan, it was easy to imagine Bran, Hodor, Jojen and Meera spoofing the movie poster for the classic 80s film, Adventures of Babysitting, but with my own twist and art direction on it."
