Sculpture: Flower Parade Floats

The small rural town of Zundert in the Netherlands holds "Corso Zundert," an annual festival featuring one of Europes most breath-taking parades.  The parade draws float designers from around the country to compete for the coveted title of most original design.  This year, the parade boasted of twenty floats decked out in Dahlias.

Now, normally, flower-decked parade floats wouldn't be the sort of thing I'd post to G.A.G., but the sheer Ecsher-esque beauty of the float in the photo above left me no choice.  Mind you, the other floats are none too shabby either, but if "Tricked" were a real house, I'd be knocking on the front door and asking to use the bathroom just to get a peek inside.

The winner of the competition was "Crazy Gold," a float with fifty-three separate moving components. You can see a ranking of this years competitors over on Croso Zundert, videos on YouTube, and many more photos courtesy Omroep Brabant.
